Saturn God of Time

Saturn God of Time

Saturn is the oldest of the Players, the taskmaster.   He comes to the table with a ledger in one hand and a great scythe in the other.

Saturn likes to think of himself as the wise old judge, presiding over the game, keeping the integrity of the Players in tact. Consider him the great task master, the accountant, the physician, the mortician, the tax collector; the old man who's not only seen it all but remembers the lot...

Saturn causes restrictions and burdens. When Venus wishes for love, he denies her. When Jupiter promises good fortune, he delays it.   When Mercury brings news, he degrades it, and when Mars goes too hard or too fast, he will crash him.

There is no easy way when it comes to Saturn and he takes forever to play his hand.   Slow and deliberate, everything is hard work for the wise old man and everything is very important. He makes sure that all the rules are followed, keeps the game in check and a tally of who owes what. When it comes to Saturn, we will surely reap what we have sown

In Metasymbology, Saturn lords over Capricorn.
