The PipsPips are the spots on the Cards - their numerical value.
The numerical value of the deck reads like a calendar.
The ACE The Beginning – “I AM”. It's not even given the numerical name of one. Oh no - it ranks supreme importance as the ego itself and we call it the ACE. The Ace is the Card of DESIRE. It is the WISH Card - the HOPE and the I WANT. It is also the vehicle for expression - as correspondence and unilateral communication is symbolized by the Ace. To avoid the selfish vibration of this card, we need to turn our desire for self and selfish gains, towards a desire for ALL. In this light, the Ace may be called the card of the ALTRUIST. TWO The number TWO manifests from the desire of the Ace. The 2 is also known as the FEAR CARD. And it fears the very thing that it represents; cooperation and unity. We are afraid if we cooperate, we are giving away our oneness, our ACE in the hole... And yet to cooperate is to unify and to unify is to grow and share as two halves will always make a better whole. The Deuce symbolizes sharing, meetings, and partnerships. THREE From the unity of the 2 comes the OPPORTUNITIES of the 3. The Three shows us new ways open - new roads to take. The Three is a fork in the road and we must choose which path to take. Negatively speaking, the Three symbolizes uncertainty and confusion. Positively speaking, the Three symbolizes entertainment and "right choice". We must be optimistic with a three and above, have FAITH. FOUR The opportunities of the 3 brings the need for the SERVICE of the number 4. The number 4 is the base for happiness, comfort and satisfaction. Fours are considered a lucky number to have in the cards. Though sometimes, we can feel TOO lucky - smug, lazy, bored or stubborn. From this angle, the luck of the 4 can turn to the most unlucky of all - as a Four can give us a false sense of security, make us feel too comfortable and willing to gamble it all. Positively expressed, the value of the 4 is SATISFACTION. Negatively expressed, the value of the 4 is IDLENESS. FIVE From the stability of the 4 arises the RESTLESSNESS of the 5. 5's symbolize CHANGE. Life is change. Creation, Preservation, Dissolution. And the middle point of anything is the point of change as nothing will ever stay the same. The number Five IS that middle point. 5's symbolize fluctuations, travel, and variety. A fickle heart or a fickle mind. A new experience is most definitely desired. Fives are a very restless number and dissatisfied enough to insist that CHANGE take place. SIX From the changes of the 5 comes the need to ADJUST to the value of 6. Exhausted from all that change and restlessness, Sixes don't like to move forward. The past needs to be reevaluated and reflected upon. We need to stop, look and listen. Sixes bring us people from our past, feelings, thoughts and health issues we may need to deal with not later, but NOW. Debts repaid, or entered into. Sixes are karmic - the result of past actions or the sowing of seeds to come. SEVEN From the reflections and inertia of the 6 comes the STRESS and worry of the 7. Oh gosh why do we do it to ourselves! Worry and fret and create the very obstacles that we have set out to avoid. Seven's have a tendency to covet - 7's are known to bring us worry because of jealousy or stress or gossip or late nights as we search for ways to recover and move forward. The key to Victory is to abandon expectations. Get around the obstacle of stress instead of trying to plow through it. EIGHT From the stress and worry of the 7 comes the POWER of the 8. 8's are fed up. 8's want to get back on top of the sum total of all the preceding numbers and take CONTROL. Eights are the number of will, strength and force. They can be incredibly bossy - and must be handled with great care! The number 8 is the number of work and gains through that work. In its positive state, the vibration of the 8 will get us back to where we want to be. In it's negative state, the vibration of the 8 will attempt to conquer and then destroy. NINE Full of the pomp and power of the all consuming 8 we are now asked to submit and SURRENDER to the number 9. Ever wonder where that expression came from, "the 9th degree"? This number doesn't mess around. When the number 9 appears in our cards, we must think in Universal terms and embrace something much bigger than ourselves. Surrender to the 9! As one door closes, another will open. As we experience an ending, so we experience NEW BEGININGS. TEN The last number - the biggest number - the sum total of our journey. This is the number of SUCCESS, the number of achievement and the number of fulfillment. 10's are usually a wonderful number to have and will give their best and create the most successful and fulfillment when played by Mercury, Jupiter, Uranus or Saturn. When Venus or Mars play this card, the 10 seems to take on a life of it's own and gets caught up in itself. Ego and pride - false sense of importance and recklessness. And when Neptune plays this powerful card, there is a tendency to get caught up in pie in the sky schemes or groups of people who pretend to be much more influential than they really are.
