are power but it is the 8 of Diamonds that surpasses the others
in material power. The 8 of Diamonds are very independent
- at times domineering and exacting. Their sense of balance is
naturally directed to values and they usually know when and what
to buy and what it is worth - exactly.
As in all cases, their power can be used or misused.
They can be philanthropic or mercenary; benefactors or self-servers.
They are the manifestation of the creative principal and they
have the ability to overcome all obstacles and conquer all enemies.
As a rule, trust and confidence may be freely given them. They
are wise guardians of the goods of the dead and wise conservers
of the interests of the living. They will serve honestly and faithfully,
often at their own expense.
The main pitfalls of this powerful Card are their love of power and a certain ruthlessness in exercising it and the love of money that enhances it. They may be thrown completely off balance by worshipping the golden calf, forgetting their inheritance entrusted to them and will swiftly accomplish their own downfall and disgrace. "Those who rise high, fall hard".
Their place is already high and they have the strength in their wings to keep them there. To fulfill their destiny, they need not be financial magnates or kings of industry but the professional man who helps the client in need - without pay.
